One of the main reasons an EFT item is rejected is because it is not recognized by the account holder. Many payments are currently processed electronically and customers frequently do not remember what they have purchased, especially if the name of the merchant is not familiar. A simple way to reduce EFT returns is to clearly identify your business or organization on file with your gateway service provider. Provide a relevant phone number and web address if possible to make sure the customer has the ability to identify the transaction, thus reducing the probability of rejection.
